Lucy Joy

Lucy Joy is an indie-folk artist, who makes music to move people.

With ethereal vocals and a delightful nostalgia that is woven through each of her songs, Lucy Joy strives to deliver performances that are gently bewitching. From heartbreak to family traditions, long-distance love and to being a girl, she discusses universal topics in her music, all united by their folky quality and vivid lyrics.

A love for music all her life and an ache to give it a try, Lucy Joy’s drive to become a singer-songwriter began with a ‘song-a-day’ challenge that she set herself for 2023. Not missing a day, she actively worked on her lyricism and guitar-playing, all which led to playing her debut solo show in July. With the first time she ever sang on her own being in a Dublin pub, all the way up to landing herself in a share-house with musicians who now make up ½ of her band, ‘The Blue Sky’, Lucy Joy’s journey is anything but typical.

Now, with a brilliant band backing her up and more stories to tell than ever, Lucy Joy is looking forward to what comes next.

Lucy Joy is joining the Port Fairy Folk Festival through the Future Folk Program, a partnership between Port Fairy Folk Festival and Moyne Shire Council’s AMPLIFY program, with funding by the Victorian Government.
