Hat Fitz and Cara
File them under “Convict Rhythm and Roots” in your record collection. While the singer-songwriters are both multi-instrumentalists, it’s Fitzy’s weathered vocals and soaring blues-soaked guitar combined with Cara’s pounding drums and soulful honey-coated voice that really show them at the peak of their creative power.
Among Australia’s most talented roots music artists, this husband-and-wife team have clocked up over 15 years of worldwide touring and festival performances and five album releases from their base of operations in the hinterland of South East Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. And, they’ve just released a sixth album, recorded live off the floor in their Hinterland home, featuring Andrew Szumowski aka “The Mouse”.
Their festival touring circuit takes in Australia, the UK, North America and Europe, where their modern blend of old-timey-influenced sounds is equally at home from folk and Americana main stages to intimate blues and acoustic venues.
