NIAMH BURY (IRE)
Niamh Bury is one of the most exciting new voices on the Irish folk scene, nominated for ‘Best Emerging Artist’ at the RTE Folk Awards in her first few months out. Her debut album, Yellow Roses released March 2024 quickly stirred hearts and received wide critical acclaim, with Irish Times christening her Ireland’s “most interesting new star” and Mojo magazine quoted “prepare to be transported“.
Bury’s debut album Yellow Roses centres around ideas of womanhood, folklore and memory. She has recorded her work with RTE Concert Orchestra and is one of the first artists in two decades to sign with Ireland’s most culturally important label, Claddagh Records – confirming her position as a vital new voice in Irish folk.
Her richly textured folk sound and expressionistic storytelling has led her to share stages with Ye Vagabonds, Dermot Kennedy, Martin Hayes – she’s a folk act on the rise, and not to be missed.
