SUSTAINABILITY

At Port Fairy Folk Festival, we are committed to finding ways to be more sustainable and reduce our carbon foot print.

REUSE WHEREVER POSSIBLE!

♫Fill up your reusable water bottle at any of the hydration stations located around the arena.
♫If you BYO cups and or plates you can wash them at one of the two wash up stations provided.

PUT YOUR WASTE OR RECYCLING INTO THE CORRECT BINS

COMPOST BINS (GREEN)
♫All Food and Compostable Food packaging, including paper, serviettes, compostable knives, forks, and plates.
♫All paper and cardboard.
♫All of our compost is managed by Camperdown Compost Company. They manage around 100,000 tonnes of organic material each year – their compost is spread on more than 60,000 hectares annually.

LANDFILL BINS (RED)
♫Soft plastics such as lolly wrappers, as well as nappies, plastic bags, coffee cups/lids and cigarette buts go into the red bin.

CONTAINER DEPOSIT SCHEME BINS (PURPLE)
♫Most aluminium, glass, plastic, and liquid carton/drink containers between 150ml & 3 litres are eligible. You can keep the lids on we recycle them too. Do not crush these.
♫These products will all go through the CDS scheme to be recycled.

Water

Great tasting tap water from Wannon Water is available at hydration stations. We encourage patrons to bring their own reusable water bottles, and refill them at these Hydration Stations to reduce waste.
