The four members of 19-Twenty stand on a stage with a packed audience behind them. The crowed is cheering and excited.

TEHO (FIN)

Not just any fiddle folk duo. Esko Järvelä and Tero Hyväluoma, both members of Frigg and many other recognized line-ups, have played together since their teens. The seamless cooperation can be heard and seen on stage: their shows are full of musical hooks, twists and turns, brilliant playing, not forgetting the humour. Original tunes are accompanied by trad pieces from Finland and material comes from other Nordic countries as well. They were the winner of the very first Konsta Jylhä Competition at Kaustinen Folk Festival in 2016. In April 2023 Teho. released their second album “Not a violin duo”. Even though Teho. is known primarily for its edgy and playful attitude also more serious and contemplative shades will be heard, which emphasizes the expressiveness and extensibility of the duo. The themes of the album move from traditional barn dances to the temple of Lemminkäinen – the fierce young man from the national epic Kalevala – from marveling the first snow to tasting cheese stew, from agonising the state of the world to saying farewells to the loved ones. All this happens smootly in the gentle gripof Teho., and again new boundaries have been drawn to be crossed!
