The four members of 19-Twenty stand on a stage with a packed audience behind them. The crowed is cheering and excited.

Stuart Joel Nuggett

Stuart Joel Nuggett is a Jingili man from Kulumindini (Elliott), now based in Alice Springs/Mparntwe. He grew up not speaking his native tongue. It wasn’t until he matured into adulthood that the urgency to preserve and promote the language hit him hard. Hear the Jingulu language draped on Southern rock, country pop and whisky soaked ballads.

After contributing to CAAMA records Therrka language series, he was signed to the label and released his debut album ‘Ngaaya-Ma Jingila Baaya’, and in 2023 released the anti-fracking anthem ‘Ilbinginia Agiyabarda’ and headed ‘The Jingili Song Project’, a three week long tour of workshops and performances.

Stu is passionate about the plight of his people and hopes that through his songs he can connect with audiences from all walks of life.
