Sarah Carroll has performed at most of Australia’s high-profile festivals and a good many of its pubs over a 30 year career, and is noted for her work with GIT, The Pirates Of Beer, The Junes and The Cartridge Family. Her songs chime with sincerity and come straight from her big, brave heart, telling stories of her life as a mother, wife, widow, teacher, political animal and touring musician.

Sarah spent time on Arrente Country, in and around Alice Springs, in the winter of 2022 and was deeply moved by her experiences of local communities and artistic life as well as the enormity and stillness of the landscape. Sleeping in dry riverbeds, wrestling her station wagon through drifts of red dust, walking around Uluru and working at the senior high school with First Nations kids were all food for her soul, and sent her back to her home on Wadawurrung Country full of beauty and stories to share.

Sarah, her sons Fenn and George and favourite guitarists Shannon Bourne and Leigh Ivin have recorded a new collection of songs and the resulting album, NQR&B, will be launched with the full band at this year’s Festival.
