FRANK DAVIDSON
From an early age listening to The Ballad of Davey Crockett on his parents (at the time) modern hi fi, Frank Davidson has been entranced by music.
And in the ensuing period, Davidson has followed a musical path with management and sales roles in Commercial and community radio and Television (regional Victoria and NSW) in addition to volunteer duties for Wangaratta Festival of Jazz as Board member, MC/Stage Manager Video MC Host (Covid years) and Co-Artistic director for close to 30 years with life member honors in 2023.
A further long-term involvement with Yackandandah Folk Festival as committee member and MC/SM duties was added to his media duties and only finished with retirement (2014) and a move to Warrnambool 2 years later with a mind set to just do the fun radio and music related stuff.
2010 saw his first volunteer MC and Stage Manager duties for the Folkie and has continued to this day across all venues and stages over the 4-day period.
Since 2016 Davidson has been the presenter of “A Different Shade of Blue”, broadcast Thursday’s from 10am on Warrnambool’s community radio station, 3WAY FM 103.7 also streaming on demand 3wayfm.org.au and is also a regular Summer Edition fill-in presenter for Helen Jennings, “Roots of Rhythm” program Wednesdays from 9 am at PBS FM Melbourne.
